Life, The Universe, and Everything Else …
So, obviously the motivation to keep everyone appraised of the minutiae that comprise my daily life has faded. This isn't, of course, because I've given up on my current plans, more or less because for the past couple months I've been reluctant to share the misery I've experienced in trying to get into shape. On the up side, I'm now to the point where 1 mile isn't as painful as it used to be. My shins no longer bother me from running or power-walking. I've improved the number of push-ups & sit-ups that I'm able to do daily from 20 to 30.
The results of my labor is an increased endurance, slimmer figure and facial features, and a broader chest & shoulders. So I'm happy with the progress that I've made thus far. Obviously I'm still a ways away and perhaps I will not be acquiring my third stripe before heading out – but I'm not going to allow the pressure to make more money govern the condition my body is in before I make it into boot camp. I'd rather be healthy and able with two stripes than be a failure with three stripes. Slow and steady wins the race in this particular instance.
In other news, I'm in the middle of my final class before I ship out. I'm both enjoying the leisurely pace and the open-ended discussions concerning what tomorrow holds. In a way, it plays into the changes that are happening in my life and I've embraced this class as a primer in being proactive about these changes.
Also, I've decided to turn off user registration on this website. I've better ways to keep in touch with friends. Here is where my musings go when I feel inspired to write.
