Event Imminent
by I/O Control on Jul.15, 2011, under Events
So I finally broke down and shelled out the cash to upgrade my current virtual DJ software to the latest and greatest version of Native Instruments Traktor Scratch Pro 2. What prompted this upgrade, you ask? Well, a good friend of mine decided to call me out of the blue one day to invite me to this crazy event out in Philadelphia, PA called “Dracula’s Ball” and, of course, I couldn’t say no … it’s been over a year since I’ve last stood behind a DJ booth – I need a bit of release. Thank you, DJ MissGuided, for the opportunity. (continue reading…)
Hectic Weeks
by I/O Control on May.20, 2011, under Site News
It’s amazing to think how quickly these weeks go by. My days have been spent absorbing quite a bit of information that time has become rather slippery and difficult to grasp … the upside is the work week just disappears. The downside is that the weekend is not nearly long enough that I find myself sometimes not getting to relax the way I’d like to. I need to start scheduling my time accordingly to maximize my efficiency.
Speaking of time … I’ve since moved on from World of Warcraft. I’ve jumped onto the bandwagon of Rift. I’ve had to kill my linux box in order to accomplish this since my four year old Alienware laptop wasn’t powerful enough (stupid dual-core minimum requirements). Even then, I still need to grab a stronger video card and two more GBs of RAM. I hate that my system is still scraping the bottom of the barrel on the requirements even with the upgrades I’m looking to pick up, but oh-well.
Firefox 3.5.7 & WordPress 2.9.1
by I/O Control on Jan.05, 2010, under General
Browser: Firefox v3.5.7 (released 01/05/2010)
Web Software: WordPress 2.9.1 (released 01/04/2010)
Problem: After updating both the browser and the CMS software, it appears that adding a new post or editing an existing post causes the browser to reload. The result of this reload is a bar of web form buttons akin to those used when viewing the HTML of the post.
Current Workaround: Use Google Chrome for posting.
UPDATE (01/06/2010) – Tinkering with the plug-ins revealed that the Myspace extension was messing things up. Disabling Myspace & the OpenID extensions resolved this issue. Also, updated the default post/page editor with FCKEditor.
Site Changes
by I/O Control on Dec.28, 2009, under Site News
I’ve been busy working on some changes. I’m trying out a new Download Manager for my mixes. I’ve also swapped my theme about and played a little bit with the widgets … nothing really major, but the changes do make some dramatic changes in the presentation of information.
Galleries Slowly Coming Online
by I/O Control on Jun.23, 2009, under Site News
Baby steps though I’ve been fiddling with the features like a lunatic. So here’s a recap:
- Downloads are possible by checking out my mixes page.
- Real-Time streaming of old demos, hand selected by me, of course.
- A gallery to share with you the debauchery of our past exploits.
You should also be able to subscribe to my site if you find it interesting enough.
… and we’re back!

Well, after a bit of finagling with my web service, I’ve hopefully got things back on track. I’m currently uploading my old demos, along with some mixes from friends that I thought I had lost. I’m slowly reintegrating everything, so bare with me as the dust settles.
